Light On, shot by Franck Bohbot
A sentimental study of storefronts shot over two years; a nocturnal exploration of the city that never sleeps. This aesthetic, along with the predominant absence of people, results in a melancholic atmosphere evocative of staged theatrical sets – conveying the relationship between Bohbot’s real-life surroundings and the artificial touch of theatre. Retro in appearance yet contemporary by nature, the photographs convey an illuminated aesthetic that both celebrates modernity and longs for the past in ironically ageless paradox.
When life is tough just always look ok the bright side, something is bound to pop out. This is something a homeless man taught me today.
I’d rather know than not.
